Tanzania is a country in east Africa. It is bordered by Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, Zambia, Malawi, and Mozambique.

It is home of several distinctive geographical features:

Mt. Kilomanjaro : Africa's highest mountain
Lake Victoria (bordering) : World's second largest freshwater lake
Lake Tanganyika (bordering) : World's second deepest freshwater lake

Approximately one-third of the population is Christian and one-third is Muslim. The other third follows native beliefs.

The official languages are Kiswahili (or Swahili) and English. English is used in secondary and university education, commerce, and administration.
